Enid Public Schools is thrilled to announce the installment of Adrian Gomez as the new head band director at Enid High School.
His duties will begin July 1, 2025.
“I’m honored to have this opportunity to contribute to Enid Public Schools and help continue the excellence of the band program,” said Gomez.
Gomez has been teaching band since 2006 when he started his career in Kingfisher. He then taught in Fairview and after that served as an assistant band director at EHS and head director at Longfellow Middle School in 2012 to 2017. He went on to Union Public Schools to assist with marching band and high school concert bands as well as coordinate seventh-grade bands with a sixth-grade trumpet class.
Gomez received a Bachelor and Master of Science in Fine Arts at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He holds Oklahoma certification in elementary and secondary instrumental music.
“Mr. Gomez is not at a stranger to Enid Public Schools, as he has previously worked for us a few years ago,” said Dr. Dudley Darrow, superintendent. “Therefore, Mr. Gomez understands the Enid community, our school culture and most importantly our EPS students. Under his leadership, I am fully confident that our EHS Big Blue Band will perform at a high level, and represent our school well too. This is a great day for the storied EHS Big Blue Band!”
Gomez is married to Sarah, and they have five children, AnaSophia, Selena, Gabriel, Desmond, and Gianna. Gomez states he loves going to church with his family, teaching confirmation class for Religious Education, and conducting the church choir and brass during Christmas and Easter seasons at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church. He plans to be involved in his church home in Enid. He enjoys spending time with his family going camping, hiking, and playing games at home. He looks forward to the opportunity to serve the Enid band program.
